Problem scope:
New cable drop, the machine can connect VIA one switch, yet does not connect thru the other.
Equipment: Cisco SLM2048, SG200-50, windows XP machine, windows 7 machine
After completing the assessment, The SLM2048 is forcing a 1GB negotiaassessmeassessment of the XP machine. However, the XP machine NIC does not auto-negotiate 100MB back to the switch since auto-negotiate is capable. Though the other switit’swas able to do the auto-negotiation.
Resolution:
set force 100MB on the Cisco slm 2048 switch.
